The Character of Heathcliff in the novel, Wuthering Heights

Throughout the novel, Wuthering Heights, the reader is exposed to the themes of revenge, social class, and love through the character of Heathcliff. The character of Heathcliff is an interesting one, as the reader often has difficulty understanding his cruelity. Although Heathcliff is also portrayed as a successful individual, he is also the antagonist because of how he hates as deeply as he loves, therefore, he is despised as much as he is loved.
