"The Destructors" by Graham Greene-Character Analysis of Trevor

In "The Destructors," Graham Greene focuses the story on a group of kids, who are still young enough to be innocent, but are not. They live through the Second World War and are influenced by the destruction they see. Trevor, the protagonist, is the newest member of the Wormsley Common Gang, and he is eager to assume a leadership role by making the gang more infamous. …and friendly to the boys. Trevor, and the gang which he uses for his diabolical plan, successfully tear down Old Misery's house from the inside out. Perhaps Trevor is greatly influenced by the Second World War and that lead him to come up with such satanic plan. However the fact remains that Trevor's strange and unpredictable, convincing and manipulative characteristics, and a twisted sense of right and wrong guided T's act of destroying the house.
