…it is shown that the cause of the death was fate, but the tragedy could have been prevented if Romeo and Juliet hadn't known Friar Lawrence. The tragedy in Romeo and Juliet was the responsibility of each individual character due to their choices and action, rather than fate. The blame for the death could be argued forever; "For never was a story of more woe / Than this of Juliet and her Romeo," (IV.iii.309-310)
