In The Stranger, Albert Camus reveals Meursault, the book's narrator and main character as distant, isolated, and unemotional. He does not think much about events or their consequences, nor does he express much feeling in relationships or during emotional times. Withdrawing from involvement with people or life events might not mean total isolation or rejection but it does not necessarily protect an individual from pain or a bad end. The ending of the book seems to be quite tedious and stretched out. Overall the book did not interest me, and there seems to be no significance in reading it.
