What factors can affect rate of reaction?
There are several factors which can affect the Rate of Reaction. These include: 1) Temperature: At higher temperature, the particles have more kinetic energy. They move more rapidly through the solution, they collide more often and more vigorously, so the chance of a reaction increases. The time taken for a certain amount of collisions to occur decreases, so the overall time for the reaction to occur would also decrease. This will be counteracted in our experiment,
used to produce a reaction. If no catalysts were used in this experiment, then the hydrogen peroxide would scarcely have broken down at all. 6) The Presence of Light. If no light is present, certain reactions cannot occur. For example, some reactions require the addition of ultra-violet rays or infra-red rays. This factor shouldn't affect or experiment, except that there has to be enough light for us to identify the change in clarity of the solution.
