I think it was an act of courage and noble of Brutus to sacrifice his friendship and loyalty to Caesar in order to save the Republic of Rome. Deep down Brutus knows it was right to join Cassius and murder Caesar in order to save and preserve what was most important to him as a citizen and statesman of Rome- the Republic.
