Stephen King, one of the best modern day horror writers states " We seek out and respond to horror in fiction as a strategy for contending with the horrors and insanity of our daily lives" (784). Prison is a place that many people depict, as somewhere you don't want to be. Adding the thought ghost being incorporated inside the abandon prison creates a very scary mental picture.
