Lesson 8 In my opinion the unpublished Emily Dickinson poem that appears in lesson 8 is not a genuine poem. Based on the style and word selection used in the poem printed there is enough evidence to prove in my mind that this is not a genuine Dickinson poem. The unpublished poem clearly uses common mediocre words unlike those of Dickinson previous works that emphasize the deep compassion of that which she is writing. I feel that the unpublished poem is not a real Emily Dickinson poem because as compared to other selections read.
